Your website should be clear as to what you are offering. Have you ever landed on a website and wondered, what is it exactly that they do here? Or are links to other pages blank because of dead URLs? Or what about that website that leaves you lost or going in circles, that makes you just want to get out of there. Navigation needs to be clear and intuitive. Usability should be simple so visitors can explore your site with confidence.
Be clear about what you have to offer. Your website should contain informative content. Focus on your main field of expertise, but of course, mention the small stuff you do to.
Write as though you’re talking to a friendly neighbor, but be professional. Most people can spot nonsense and quickly move on. Know what you’re talking about.
Give your company a face, and add a picture of yourself and/or your crew.
Don’t be vague; you must effectively communicate that your company is the best in your field.
Take Before and After photos
One of the most important ways to promote your company is to take before and after photos of your projects. Sharing completed work on your website demonstrates your expertise of what you can do. Potential clients want to see what the project looked like before you transformed it, and the amazing finished result. If you don’t already have a great camera, invest in one, or hire a photographer, it really is worth the investment. Blurry images won’t do your work justice and it demeans the quality and professionalism of your website and your company.
Your website looks great, your photos are awesome, you advertise about all the things you can do, now prove it! When a client hires you they will be spending a good chunk of their hard earned money. By including testimonials on your website from satisfied clients it puts your potential customer at ease knowing their money will be well spent. Testimonials should reflect the quality of work done, open lines of communication during the project and if the work was done in a timely manner.
The hardest part of the website is not the site itself. It’s how to drive customers to it and once they do land on your page, how to convert them to actual customers.
